OK Jaanu

OK Jaanu

A rather intriguing love story based on two characters Adi and Tara, who plan to be in a relationship with strict no strings, attached policy. Being professionally quite different from one another, Adi being a video game developer and Tara an architect, they tend to nullify all differences to be one with each other. Later as their professional lives makes them realize that they are going to be separated from each other to follow each other’s passion, they decide to spend the rest of the days of togetherness in a fruitful and fun way.

OK Jaanu Movie Synopsis:
Adi, a character portrayed on screen by Aditya Roy Kapoor, who is a video game developer saves the life of a hitherto unknown girl Tara whose character is portrayed by Shraddha Kapoor who is an architect by profession when she tried to commit suicide by jumping in local train railway line in Mumbai after having a quarrel with her boyfriend. A few days afterward, the two of them meet yet again at Jenny’s wedding who happens to be a close friend of Adi’s, at a church and they come close to each other almost instantly. They soon become more than ‘just friends’, they become, or according to them, ‘Jaanu.

Later on, Adi being a free spirited person accompanies Tara to Ahmadabad and spends a really good time together. Soon, Tara joins Adi at his rented stay, i.e., they go for a live-in relationship at a retired High Court Judge named G.Shrivastava’s (a character played by veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah) house where along with him stays his wife Charu(a character played by yet another veteran actress Leela Samson) who happens to be a famous singer of classical song and Alzheimer’s patient who sometimes leaves the house( due to her illness of course!) and ends up losing her way in the process. Adi and Tara end up rescuing her quite a number of times after they get into the live-in relationship. The couple soon starts to like the two young buds. Charu’s love for her husband, whom Charu lovingly calls ‘Poplu’ inspire Adi and Tara.

The one thing that their relationship had was a strict rule of no interference policy and the respect for each other’s private life. It’s not only a Utopia that most couples tend to create in their minds but also shows a lot of things about the human nature and Adi and Tara’s relationship proved to be not an exception in this case. Soon they grew more and more like any other couple, getting worried about each other in their absence and other such things which many think to be an exaggeration of human relationships but can only be comprehended by people who are in the relationship.

After the passage of about half a year like a jiffy, there arose a situation for which the duo wasn’t probably prepared. Mumbai 2.0, a video game created by Adi, acquired quite a fame for which he got an offer to move to Los Angeles while almost at the same time Tara gets a chance to pursue her career and studies in Paris with regards to architecture. As obvious it might seem, the duo gets upset for the fact that they have to part ways, but still respecting their individual views and mutual benefit, they decide to pursue their ambition and passion and spend the rest of the days of togetherness in much merry-making and enjoyment!

Ok Jaanu Movie Star Cast:
The casting of Ok Jaanu gives a deja vu when it comes to the chemistry between the Aashiqui 2 stars Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. The experienced presence of Naseeruddin Shah and Leela Samson also plays a pivotal role in giving the film the much-needed support and foundation on which the whole script stands. Coupled with A.R.Rahman’s music, the film tends to create a long lasting impact on the people watching it.

Ok Jaanu Movie Review:
The film has got reviews which might have been termed as mixed, but the number of ratings towards the downward direction gives it a rather bad outcome! The Indian Express has rated it 1.5/5, while Times of India and First post have rated it 3.5/5 and 4/10 respectively. IMDb rates it at 5.4/10. Rotten Tomatoes’ Audience score is at 17%. Well, that’s not something to be proud of!

OK Jaanu movie: Focus on News

“OK Jaanu shows minimal growth on its 1st Saturday at the Box Office”
The film which has shortly been released has till now roped in 4.90 crores on its first Saturday and now stands at 8.98 crores. This Sunday is going to be very much crucial for the movie as though it’s a fresh movie being released; Dangal is still continuing its dream run with over 700 crores worldwide.

“OK Jaanu really must watch portions”
This movie is overall entertaining, although it hasn’t received as much appreciation as it might have expected. The plus points of the film are absolutely the fact that A.R.Rahman’s music plays an important role in giving the film the much-needed audience. Enna Sona- a track from this very film has gathered in much appreciation and more importantly have made it a point that more and more people flock in to watch the movie. Not to forget though the Aashiqui 2 duo’s on-screen chemistry is as graceful as it was when the previous film featuring these two stars released.

“OK Jaanu: Portions which are bringing it down”
The whole plot again leaves us with one common pass phrase: Old wine in a new bottle! This might not seem too encouraging but the truth has been spoken. Also, it’s about time Bollywood again returns to producing something of its own accord rather than blindly going for Tamil films, as though the former might have gathered much appreciation, the audience is by and large different for the two genres.
