Sully is based on a real life airstrike incidence that took place on January 15, 2009. The story is about the pilot and crew’s incredible endeavor and intelligence to save the lives of passengers by averting a huge accident.

Sully is an American biographical drama film co-produced and directed by Clint Eastwood and Todd Komarnicki has written the movie script, which is about a US Airways Flight 1549 and its pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger. The movie is based on the autobiography Highest Duty by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow. Starcast of the movie includes Tom Hanks as the main character ‘Sullenberger’ along with Aaron Eckart, Laura Linney, Autumn Reeser, Jamey Sheridan and Jerry Ferrara in supporting roles. The music of the film is directed under the mentorship of music director Christian Jacob. The movie is going to be released by Warner Bros. on September 9, 2016 in usual and IMAX theaters.

The movie is based on a real averted air strike incident that took place on January 15, 2009, veteran US Airways pilot Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger and first officer Jeffery “Jeff” Skiles board US Airways Flight 1549 which departed from LaGuardia Airport. Just after three minutes of flight a flock of geese hit the Airbus A320, which damaged both engines of the flight and the incidence was turning into to a huge disaster. The plane was left with no engine power and there was no nearby Airport too. The plan ultimately started freely flowing, at this movement “Sully” used his experienced mind and landed the unfortunate plane in the frigid waters of the Hudson River. “Sully” saved the lives of 155 passengers and the crew members by his instant intelligent act. “Sully” became the hero of the day and the contemporary media. But after the incidence, Sully’s life became messed with undue interference of media persons, interviewers and ultimately he departed refuge from his career.

On September 28, 2016, the principle photography of the movie had begun in New York City and on October 15, 2016, filming took place in Atlanta, where a building in downtown Atlanta was modified into a NYC hotel for the purpose of shooting. The movie is mostly shot with IMAX cameras.

Critical review aggregator ‘Rotten Tomatoes’ has approved the film with a 89% rating, based on 9 reviews and the movie got an average rating of 5.8 out of 10. On Metacritic, the movie has scored 73 out of 100 score, which based on 9 reviews. ‘Variety’ a film review magazine, has positively reviewed the movie. The magazine has praised Tom Hanks for his strong performance in the movie. If you like real-time dramas and thrills then go for it.
